Baking!

Tuesday, January 13, 2009

I have to say, I'm not the greatest at baking. So, I tend to stick to easy recipes. Most things I make have a 50/50 chance of coming out good, so I'm always delighted when they do.

I have a bunch of clementines I bought a few weeks ago. They are still good, but are getting a little dry and won't make it much longer. I decided to look for some recipes to use them in and found something. I came across this great recipe for Flourless Orange Cake. It calls for 1 pound of clementines, oranges, or you can even use lemons, yum! A great way to use up any citrus fruit that is going to turn soon. The recipe calls for ground almonds, so, I bought Trader Joe's Just Almond Meal, and it works great. The cake came out SO good. It is so moist and tasty and can be eaten alone ( I don't think it needs frosting, but an orange glaze might be good.) We ate it with a little bit of apricot jam on top.

Try it!

Music (old and new)--gBox

Friday, September 19, 2008

Check out this gBox widget type thing. You can make wishlists, and buy other people things off their wishlists. I like it for remembering what music I want to eventually get but don't have the time or money to get the albums/songs now.

Yo Naturals

Monday, August 11, 2008

I came across this new vending company a week or so ago called Yo Naturals. I think it such a great alternative to the junk that is currently at every workplace and school. They offer great tasting, yummy snacks that have nutritional value and aren't filled with a bunch of artificial ingredients.

I would definitely prefer to see this type of vending at my son's schools in the future. Of course I would prefer him to be eating fresh unprocessed foods, but this seems to be a great compromise to the unhealthy products in vending machines now. I hope this trend takes off and we begin to see vending machines like this everywhere.

Reusable

Sunday, August 3, 2008

These bags are Awesome! Onya Bags makes multiple reusable bags, including these great produce bags, so you can stop using those pesky plastic ones too! You can also customize your bags with your own design or company logo. The best part is that you stuff them into this tiny little bag that has a carabiner clip on it. Clip them to your key chain or purse and you will never have an excuse to use paper or plastic again! Check them out!
